The Report — Week Two: Shouting into the void.
Behind-the-scenes of building two businesses from the ground up — every win, wobble and lesson in between.

Welcome to The Report — my weekly check-in as a founder building two businesses from the ground up.
→ Grow by Charlotte – strategic marketing consultancy
→ Sojourn Pilates – boutique Pilates studio in the making
Week two of being my own boss, and I’m feeling it. Anxiety, decision fatigue, analysis paralysis — whatever you want to call it, it’s got my brain running at a thousand miles an hour while my feet feel glued to the floor.
Last week, I admitted I’d digitally dropped the ball with Sojourn. My content flow stopped, and so did the momentum. Getting back into the rhythm feels like trying to restart an engine that’s been cold for weeks.
I’m learning that the world is loud and trying to draw inspiration from everything leads to nothing (duh). My goal for next week? Spend more time creating than consuming.
Shouting into the Void
I titled this edition Shouting into the Void because that’s exactly what it feels like.
→ Writing a newsletter for zero subscribers
→ Posting on LinkedIn for maybe one like
Why am I experiencing such a lack of engagement? Here’s the honest breakdown:
Inconsistent posting doesn’t build trust
When you stop showing up, people stop expecting you to. Consistency breeds trust, and I haven’t been earning it.
My content strategy isn’t quite there
I’m experimenting, and that’s okay. Right now, it’s about throwing ideas out there and seeing what sticks.
I don’t engage much
I don’t spend much time engaging on social media. I limit screen time, so I’ve never prioritised interacting with others. But this week, I spent some time on TikTok for Sojourn, and I saw an immediate uptick in my own engagement. Lesson learnt.
Before I wrote this, I considered scrapping the newsletter altogether. What’s the point? No one reads it which is kind of embarrassing… and I’m supposed to be good at this.
But you know what the silver lining of content that flops is? No one sees it. It’s like failure in private. (And if they do see it, you don’t know anyway because they’ve not engaged. Ignorance is bliss).
So if you’re reading this and feeling stuck, or convinced the algorithm is out to get you—here’s your reminder to just keep going. Keep posting, keep learning, keep experimenting.
Reminder One:
Everyone starts at zero.
Reminder Two:
The only way to figure out what works is to start putting things out there.
Weekly Wellness Recommendation
While my anxiety’s been sky-high this week, the Open Meditation app has been a lifesaver. Their sound and breathwork sessions are gold, and I highly recommend it if you’re looking for something fresh to ground you.
The Report is published weekly, sharing what’s working, what’s wobbly, and what I’m learning in real time as I build these two businesses from the ground up.
Enjoy your weekend,
